The blade will only last two to four sharpenings until it breaks. The reason for this is that microscopic cracks develop in the gullet of the blade when cutting. If you do not remove these cracks, the blade breaks. This is very simple! Read some of the articles that Tim Cook has wrote on this subject. It is explained very well by him.

I got my wheel and plans for a homemade grinder from Suffolk. It is essentially a custom table on a standard 6" grinder. The wheel is dressed like Gord's is and you essentially slide the blade into the wheel just touching the face of the tooth then you back it out along the back of the tooth, sharpening the entire profile.
